Business card ideas

July 26th, 2010 — 2:58pm

These days I try to give three or more options for things like business cards. Everyone has different tasted and there is nothing worse than being stuck with something you are not entirely happy with. Hope they like them…

Black Line One X Architecture Studio

July 26th, 2010 — 11:27am

Architecture requires a certain class. Starbursts and bright graphics just don’t really say million dollar mansion! The interesting thing about this website build was more stripping back the content management capabilities into the bare necessities and being brave enough to give white the space it deserves. There were so many features that I had in my first draft, but for Melbourne based client Anthony it was all about the basics. Simplicity and space.
Black Line One X Architecture studio is now live. So if you have been looking for that guy to design and project manage your amazing home, here’s the place to start.

logo designing for a contest

July 18th, 2010 — 6:12pm

A dicey game at best, crowd sourcing is the way of the future for designers. When it comes to sourcing a very good logo, you can’t really go past getting a hundred good designers to drop ideas as designs, and being able to pick the favourite. The down side of course, is that if you spend a lot of time working on one of these logos, it can be a huge waste of time. I don’t do it often, I have had a few good results but I see it more as a good way to get creative and push yourself to do better. Mental training I guess you could say. So I’m trying one out on 99designs that cought my eye… Lets see how we go.

Getting all nautical design

July 15th, 2010 — 12:49pm

I’m working on a logo and some corporate ID for a local company that does geophysical surveys and crew changeovers on the rigs. It’s in that exciting nervous stage of blank sheet designing. The pencil is my friend at this point.

They like the idea of the compass rose so I’m rolling with that. They already have a nice little website, lets see if we can’t improve the branding a little navigatoroffshore.com

Anthony is the lead Architect for Bloxas, an up and coming firm with some global cred. Check out his site and maybe drop him a line if you need some top end architecture. We are talking about a little collaboration on his site and maybe some super secret future projects.

It’s also the novilty of updating my website from my phone, I’m sure it will wear off but at the moment it is very neat!
